Requesting for linux-surface kernel support in IGEL OS 12. This feature would allow us to utilize surface pro tablets on IGEL OS. Everything works except for touchscreen and camera (tested on Surface pro 7&8). The linux-surface patched kernel would open up the ability to use those functionality. We would be able to utilize these tablets in our dockyard and warehouses to reduce thin client footprint. We do not want to use UDP as that means we’ll need to license IGEL OS and Windows.
I second this motion. Would like support for the Surface Laptop 4, 5, and 6 for Business devices. Getting a lot of asks for this after the Stratodesk aquisition as they had the kernel added to support these devices.
On our end, the only issue is with the built in keyboard and touchpad. Everything else seems to work ok, and we can use external devices to get around it but that isn’t a solution that will work outside of testing.
I`m in. We use Surface 7 Tablets in our Cleanrooms. It would solve a lot of our problems, if the Igel OS would support the touchscreen.
