In the past, we have repeatedly seen that with newer Base OS versions, certain drivers are no longer included.
Therefore, I would like to propose the following:
Provide optional driver packages (for example, WLAN drivers) as separate applications in the IGEL App Portal, similar to the existing “Optional Kernel Modules” concept, but focused specifically on hardware drivers.
These driver packages could then be assigned to individual Thin Clients or device groups as needed, keeping the Base OS lean while significantly improving flexibility and hardware compatibility.
