The below was received after a support ticket was raised with unexpected graphical behaviour - It seems an oversight, that on a supported laptop device, this operation has not been considered nor supported. Kindly review this limitation.
We are aware of this behaviour and have discussed the topic of headless operation with the OS Product Management team.
We have been informed that headless operation is currently not a supported use case for IGEL OS 12. This includes scenarios where:
No display is connected to the device
A connected display becomes unavailable to the system
No valid display is detected by the operating system
In these situations, graphical issues and other unexpected behaviour can occur, as the operating system is designed to operate with a valid display attached.
Unfortunately, this means that the behaviour you are experiencing is expected in a headless environment.
