Can assign "icg" as SSH username in Azure Marketplace ICG offering#8

Insert a pop-up warning or don’t allow this SSH username when selecting options during provisioning.

?

This is more of a bug to fix than a new feature to implement… IMO it doesn’t belong on this list

The KB article already has a warning NOT to use this username.

Sure, but I feel like a large group of users won’t read that KB prior to provisioning and will look at it after they have an issue and end up redeploying. A bubble pop-up or info button would suffice, but I don’t know what it entails to get MS to add that. I would also agree that this is much more of a bug fix (not even that really) than a feature request. I think it would improve the user experience is why I recommended/posted it.

The reason you cannot do this is because it’s how Linux works. When ICG installs it creates a local user to run the services. A good practice in Linux is to create a user with your applications name. In this case it would be, and is “icg”. If you have another user with that already the installation will fail when trying to create this user.

That is why the KB exists with the warning. :)
